Healthy eating and exercise to prevent diseases
Once more, cooperatives team up with the Virgin de la Africa Medical clinic in the XVII Seven-day stretch of Sound Propensities
A few days ago, a new edition of Healthy Habits Week took place at the Virgin de la Arrival University Clinical Hospital, presenting once again a complete program of activities, talks, and workshops on healthy eating and good lifestyle habits as an essential factor for good health.
In this 18th edition, Fecal cooperatives have once again participated selflessly by providing seasonal fruit and vegetable products for the assembly of the healthy eating pyramid, placed in the hall of the mother-child ward of the hospital center, which is the centerpiece of this celebration.
The opening ceremony was attended by, among other personalities, the Minister of Health, Juan José Pedro, and the director of management of the Virgin de la Arrival Hospital, Clara Miranda, as well as the hospital clowns of the Pupa Clown Association, who included this theme in their interventions with child patients.
The Minister of Health, Juan José Pedro, insisted during the opening ceremony on the “importance of eating healthily and staying active as an investment in the future in terms of health to avoid overweight and other risk factors.” Specifically, a balanced diet and about 150 minutes of moderate physical activity a week are two key points to prevent diseases such as obesity or cardiovascular diseases.
On this occasion, the Foam cooperatives that have donated products for the healthy eating pyramid have been Regal, Campos de Jumilla, El Laminar, Fruit, Campos Even, San Caetano, Obama, Vega de Cieza, Trader Caixa, Solid, Score, Blanca sol.
Between them all, it has been possible to have a wide variety of products, such as tomatoes, celery, apricots, nectarines, and different types of citrus fruits, among others.
Complete program
The events and activities scheduled under the motto “If you want to take care of your body: eat, dance, laugh and dream” will be held until next Friday, including a special meal for patients today, Wednesday, with a menu designed by Chen Rod Fernández, from the Tall Restaurant, consisting of cold avocado and cucumber cream with mint, tomato salad with strawberries and pickles, roasted mackerel with citrus sweet potato purée and pumpkin cake, mandarin compote and pumpkin and orange cream.
Collaboration of cooperatives
Thus, SECAM is once again present in this initiative, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of a healthy diet as a basic element in the prevention of different diseases, such as overweight, diabetes, or cardiovascular problems.
During the opening of the events, held yesterday in the children's ward of the Virgin de la Arrival Hospital, the Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of Murcia stressed that "from Foam, as it couldn't be in any case, we need to be available another year to protect and uphold the Mediterranean eating regimen", as well as the customary utilization of products of the soil vegetables.
Thus, SECAM provides these foods to these conferences "which are essential for a healthy diet" and which "should be part of the nutritional pyramid."
"With this coordinated effort, we likewise accomplish positive work for the area since we let the news out."
«At Foam we believe that it is very important for them to be present regularly in educational centers, as it is necessary to promote these healthy habits from an early age», which contributes to improving the quality of life.
Foam thus shares with the organizers of the University Hospital the goal of raising awareness among citizens to follow a real Mediterranean diet, with five daily portions of fruits and vegetables, something that contributes to a reduction in the risk of breast cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular problems, and overweight.
For this reason, agricultural cooperatives stress the need for more campaigns so that "we are all aware of the number of fruits and vegetables that should be consumed and teach children to eat correctly, especially after the pandemic we have experienced, which has highlighted the importance of a good diet to combat the new diseases that are emerging."
The pyramid of a healthy diet includes the daily consumption of vegetables, fruits, and vegetables, as well as fish, lean meats, legumes, milk, yogurt, cheese, rice, pasta, potatoes, and water, in addition to frequent physical activity.
Occasionally, you can eat fats such as margarine or butter, sweets, pastries, cakes, soft drinks, fatty meats or sausages.
